Commitment to Sustainability
We are committed to promoting sustainable innovation through leadership training that connects leaders with nature, resources, and self. We provide leaders with free individualized training that addresses their unique problems in developing a sustainable future for all.
At ALI our commitment to sustainability goes beyond the training we provide. We walk the walk ourselves by operating a paperless office powered by IT services from organizations who are walking with us. Our web-server, Dreamhost, has a strong commitment to environmental sustainability, our customer relationship management (CRM) software is provided by a certified B corporation committed to sustainability thedatabank, and our merchant services are provided by another certified B company also committed to sustainability Dharma Merchant Services. We choose service partners who will help us achieve our mission and are examples of organizations paving the way for a sustainable future.
We deliver our lessons in the wilderness and we teach respect for the wilderness while guiding in it. We practice a strict leave no trace policy during our lessons. By choosing to teach in nature we are choosing a learning environment that is producing zero pollution and is carbon negative.
Being in nature can heal our emotional and physical wounds, bring us clarity and vision, and allow us to see our possibilities. In order for us to build a sustainable future we need to work with a clear understanding of our possibilities. By connecting with nature we can let go of the blocks that have prevented us from moving forward and find balance in our actions. With balanced actions we can insure the sustainability of the choices we make. Join us in nature today by coming out to one of our wilderness retreats on personal development, or by becoming a member and signing up for an outdoor course.
What Innovation Means to the ALI
The Adirondack Leadership Institute is committed to helping members understand and utilize the latest innovations in order to create efficiency, reduce waste, and build a sustainable future. We provide training that helps leaders find opportunities for innovation in their field by exposing them to current innovations and helping them find clarity in the available choices.
We look towards innovation as a way to improve the efficiency of administrative tasks and reduce the need for energy and material resources. We operate the Adirondack Leadership Institute with the latest in information technology and we are always trying to innovate our own methods to keep a small footprint on the planet. It is important to our organization that the technology we utilize is focused on sustainable innovation. This is why we partner with certified B companies like theDatabank.com that are committed to innovating for good. theDatabank's innovations have been helping non-profit companies reduce thousands of hours of time and thousands of pounds of materials doing administrative tasks since the late 90's. Innovations in sustainability, like those from theDatabank.com, occur when leaders have a clear understanding of their capabilities and make a decision to take a risk. This is best achieved when leaders are grounded and open to new ways of thinking.
Our retreats help leaders free their minds from daily distractions and open up to a future of endless possibilities. Please join us now for a wilderness day retreat or signup to be a member. As a member you will have access to register for any of the courses we offer online and in the wilderness.
What Leadership Means to the ALI
Leadership theory is a quickly developing social science created to understand what makes leaders successful. We believe that teaching leadership theory to current and potential leaders can help them achieve their goals by providing them with a frame work for leading others. Beyond teaching leadership theory we provide leaders with training that focuses on administrative tasks that generally bog down leaders from achieving their goals.
Our own leadership team represents over a decade of experience in adult education, law, and business administration. Our leaders have operated their own businesses and have experience improving environmental and economical sustainability in their fields. We started the Adirondack Leadership Institute to share our commitment to a sustainable future with others.
All of our training is provided by experienced leaders who know what it takes to achieve great change. Please signup now to be a member. Membership is free and once you are accepted you will gain access to register for any of our courses and retreats.
